J. D. Chakravarthy, born Nagulapati Srinivasa Chakravarthy on April 16, 1970, is an acclaimed Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, and musician primarily recognized for his contributions to Telugu cinema, along with notable works in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam films. He gained prominence with his debut in the Telugu film Siva (1989), directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Following this, he made a significant impact in Bollywood with the film Satya (1998), which is celebrated as one of the greatest Indian films. Over the years, Chakravarthy has showcased his versatility in various genres, earning accolades such as the Nandi Special Jury Award for Gulabi (1995) and a Screen Award for Satya. He has also ventured into directing with films like Darwaaza Bandh Rakho and Darna Zaroori Hai, which was archived at the New York Institute of Technology. His personal life includes a marriage to Anukriti Govind Sharma.
