Gurdas Maan was born on January 4, 1957, in Giddarbaha, Muktsar District, Punjab, India. He is the son of Gurdev Singh and Tej Kaur. Maan completed his early education in Giddarbaha and graduated from DAV College in Malout. He later pursued a Master's degree in Physical Education from the National Institute of Sports in Patiala. Maan is married to Manjeet Maan, and they have a son named Gurdeep Maan. He is known for his significant contributions to Punjabi music and cinema, being regarded as one of the most influential Punjabi artists of all time.
