Farrukh Jaffar

Farrukh Jaffar was born in 1933 in Jaunpur, India. She was a prominent Indian actress and composer, celebrated for her work in Bollywood films. Jaffar began her career in radio as the first female announcer on Vividh Bharti in 1963, which laid the foundation for her transition into acting. Her film debut came with the acclaimed movie "Umrao Jaan" in 1981, and she gained widespread recognition for her roles in "Swades" (2004), "Sultan" (2016), and "Gulabo Sitabo" (2020). Farrukh was married to Syed Muhammad Jaffar, with whom she had two children. She passed away on October 15, 2021, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, due to a stroke
