Darshan Jariwala was born on September 29, 1958, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. He is the son of veteran Gujarati actress Leela Jariwala and Vidyasagar Jariwala. Jariwala is an accomplished actor known for his work in Hindi films, television, and theatre. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in the film "Gandhi, My Father" (2007), which earned him a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has also appeared in popular television shows such as "Saas Bina Sasural" and its sequel "Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii." Jariwala was married to Apara Mehta in 1980, and they have one daughter. Although they have been living separately since 2003 due to personal differences, they are not officially divorced. Since 2010, he has been in a live-in relationship with Anahita Jahanbaksh Italia.
