Danny Denzongpa, born Tshering Phintso Denzongpa on February 25, 1948, in Gangtok, Sikkim, is a prominent Indian actor, playback singer, and film director known for his work primarily in Hindi cinema, as well as in Bengali, Nepali, and Tamil films. He completed his early education in Sikkim and graduated from Birla Vidya Mandir in Nainital, Uttarakhand. Initially aspiring to join the Indian Army, he earned the Best Cadet award in West Bengal but chose to pursue acting instead by enrolling in the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune. His career began in the early 1970s with B-grade films before he gained recognition for his roles in movies like "Mere Apne" and "Khuda Gawah." Denzongpa has portrayed a variety of characters ranging from villains to positive roles, becoming a household name for his performances. He is married to Gawa Denzongpa, a Sikkimese princess, and they have two children: a son named Rinzing and a daughter named Pema.
