Chandan Roy Sanyal was born on January 30, 1980, in Karol Bagh, New Delhi, India. He hails from a Bengali family and completed his education at Raisina Bengali School and Zakir Husain College, where he earned an honors degree in Mathematics. Sanyal made his acting debut in the 2006 film "Rang De Basanti," portraying Batukeshwar Dutt in a minor role. His breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed film "Kaminey" in 2009, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. He gained further recognition for his performances in the Bengali film "Mahanagar@Kolkata" (2010) and the romantic drama "Prague" (2013). Chandan is known for his versatile acting skills and has also made significant contributions to theater, winning accolades for his directorial work.
