Arijit Singh was born on April 25, 1988, in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. He is married to Koel Roy, a childhood friend, and they have a son together. Arijit stands at a height of approximately 5 feet 9 inches. He comes from a musically inclined family; his father is Punjabi and his mother is Bengali, both of whom contributed to his early musical training. His mother was a singer and tabla player, while his grandmother and aunt were trained in Hindustani classical music.

Arijit Singh is recognized as one of the most prominent playback singers in India. He gained widespread fame after his breakout song "Tum Hi Ho" from the film Aashiqui 2 in 2013, which established him as a household name. His journey began with participation in the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, where he finished as a finalist. Following that, he won another reality show, 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil, which provided him the opportunity to invest in his own recording studio.
